Why HWP files get big and how this shrinks them
Why the file is big
A phone photo is 3 to 5 MB, so a few of them push an HWP file past 10 MB. The document shows them small, but stores them at full size.
What changes
Only the pictures are made smaller and lighter. Text, tables and formatting stay untouched. In HWPX, photo PNG and BMP images without transparency become JPG. In HWP the picture format is kept (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG).
