How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. 1

    Choose a PDF

Previews of every page appear in order.

  2. 2

    Select the pages to drop

Click the previews. Select as many as you like.

  3. 3

    Check the mode and save

The default is "delete selected pages". Tick the box to invert it and keep only what you selected.

Worth knowing before you delete

Delete or keep: which is less work

Dropping 2 pages out of 30 is quickest by selecting those two and deleting. But if you only need 3 pages out of 30, selecting 3 and switching to "keep only selected" beats selecting 27.

Either way the result is a new file and your original is untouched.

What happens to bookmarks and the table of contents

Removing pages can leave internal links and bookmarks pointing at the wrong place. If those matter in your document, open the result once and check.

Text, images and formatting are carried over from the original data, so none of that is damaged.

Common questions

Can I delete every page?+

No. A PDF with no pages is not a valid file, so selecting all of them locks the button.

I deleted the wrong ones. Can I undo?+

Your original file was never modified. Fix the selection and run it again. If you already saved the result, just delete that.

Will it find blank pages for me?+

Not automatically yet. Blank pages stand out clearly in the previews, so click to select them.

Does the file get smaller?+

If images used only by the deleted pages go with them, yes. But if size is the goal, the compress tool is more reliable.
