How to install it in your browser
Chrome (Windows, Mac)+
- 1Click the install icon (a monitor with an arrow) at the right end of the address bar.
- 2If you don't see it, open the menu (⋮) at the top right and choose the install option under "Cast, save, and share".
- 3Click "Install". EZPZ File shows up on your desktop and in your taskbar or Dock.
Edge (Windows, Mac)+
- 1Click the app install icon on the right side of the address bar.
- 2If it isn't there, open the menu (…) at the top right and choose "Apps" → "Install this site as an app".
- 3Click "Install". EZPZ File shows up in your Start menu and taskbar.
Safari (Mac)+
- 1In the menu bar at the top of the screen, choose "File" → "Add to Dock".
- 2Check the name and click "Add".
- 3Click EZPZ File in your Dock and it opens in its own window. This needs macOS Sonoma or later.
iPhone, iPad+
- 1In Safari, tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up).
- 2Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
- 3Tap "Add". The EZPZ File icon appears on your Home Screen.
Android+
- 1In Chrome, open the menu (⋮) at the top right and tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
- 2Tap "Install". EZPZ File appears in your app list and on your Home screen.
- 3From then on, EZPZ File shows up in the list when you share a file from another app.
Questions
Is it free? Do I need an account?+
It's free and there's nothing to sign up for. The app opens the same tools as this website in their own window, so it does everything the site does.
Am I downloading an installer? Is it safe?+
There's no program file to download. Your browser simply opens this site as an app window, so nothing gets installed on your computer. Files are still processed only inside your browser and never sent to a server.
How do I update it?+
You don't have to. When the site changes, the app opens with the new version the next time you launch it.
Which files can I open with a double click?+
PDF, HWP, HWPX, Ichitaro (.jtd) and DocuWorks (.xdw, .xbd), on Windows or Mac computers where you installed the app with Chrome or Edge. The first time, your browser asks whether EZPZ File may open the file. On Windows, right-click the file, pick EZPZ File under "Open with", and set it as the default app if you want double-clicks to go straight to it.
Does it really work offline?+
The editors you saved and any tool you have opened before work without a connection. Tools you have never used and the articles need internet.
How do I remove it?+
In Chrome or Edge, open the menu at the top right of the app window and choose "Uninstall EZPZ File". If you added it from Safari on a Mac, delete it from the Applications folder in Finder. On a phone, press and hold the icon and remove it.
