How to rotate a PDF

  1. 1

    Choose a PDF

Drop the file and a preview of every page is built, also entirely inside your browser.

  2. 2

    Pick the pages to turn

Click a preview to select it. If you select nothing, the turn applies to every page.

  3. 3

Get the orientation right and save

Use left, right or flip until the previews look upright, then press convert.

Worth knowing about rotation

Rotating the view is not rotating the file

The rotate command in a PDF viewer only changes what is on screen right now. Close and reopen the file and it is back the way it was; send it to someone and it still looks sideways on their screen.

What happens here rewrites the page property inside the file. It stands upright for anyone, in any program, and prints that way too.

Quality is untouched

Only the orientation value is rewritten, so text and images stay exactly as they were. Rotate as many times as you like without any loss.

Common questions

Can I turn different pages by different amounts?+

Yes. Select a single page and press a direction button and only that page turns. Select several and they turn together.

How do I fix a document with mixed orientations?+

Select just the sideways pages and turn them one way, then select the upside-down ones and flip those. The previews rotate live, so you can check as you go.

Previews are slow on a long document.+

Previews are built for the first 120 pages. Rotation still applies to the whole document beyond that. You just cannot check those pages visually.

Is the file uploaded?+

No. Drawing the previews and applying the rotation both run inside this browser.
