How to reorder a PDF

  1. 1

    Choose a PDF

Page previews are laid out in their current order.

  2. 2

    Drag pages into place

Drag a preview where you want it. The number below is the new position; the one in brackets is the original page number.

  3. 3

    Save

A new file is built in exactly the order you see.

When reordering earns its keep

A duplex scan split into odds and evens

Feed every front through a sheet-fed scanner, then every back, and you get 1, 3, 5… followed by 2, 4, 6…. Drag each back page into the gap where it belongs.

If the backs came out in reverse, hit "reverse" first to line them up, then interleave, which is much faster.

Your original is untouched

Reordering copies pages out of the original into a new sequence. If you do not like it, press "reset order" to go back to the start and try again.

Common questions

Does dragging work on a phone?+

It responds to touch, but the previews are small and precise drops are fiddly. For a long document, use a computer.

What does "reverse" do?+

It flips the whole order. Handy for a document scanned from the last page backwards.

Can I move several pages at once?+

One at a time for now. To move a whole run, split the document into pieces and use merge to join them back in the order you want.

Does it handle very long documents?+

Previews stop at 120 pages, which makes the tail hard to work with. For longer documents, split and merge is the steadier route.
